Dr. Raul Cook
Dr. Raul Cook earned his dental degree from CES University, Colombia, in 1994. In 1998 he achieved a Master in Public Health in the CES University as well. He completed a 3-year Master Program in Periodontics at Saint Louis University in 2008.Dr. Cook, during his Master program, was a Clinical Instructor for the undergraduate medical-dental students from Southern Illinois University. In 2001, he worked as an Assistant Faculty at the College of Dentistry at University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Cook worked as a general dentist for several years and work with different international health organizations such as World Health Organization developing health programs in Colombia. Dr. Cook is a member of the America Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, America Academy of Periodontology, Broward County Dental Association and Fort Lauderdale study club. Dr. Cook is a director of the Seattle Study Club - Intracoastal Dental Club and offer seminars for dental continuing education, and is a Co-Chair the Department of Implant Dentistry at Broward College.
Dr. Barry Kligerman
Dr. Barry Kligerman graduated Colby College (1962-1966), a small New England School with 1,000 students in Waterville, Maine, where he was a Senior Scholar and a member of the Executive Committee of the Student Government. He attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (1966-1970) where he served as Vice President of his class for two years. He became a faculty member of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (1970 - 1972) while maintaining a practice of General Dentistry in the city of Boston. After fulfilling a life long dream of a brief 5-month trip around the world, Dr. Kligerman attended Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine (1972 - 1974). He earned his degree as a Periodontist while completing a simultaneous Masters of Science degree (M.S.), by investigating the Effects of Chemical Agents on Plaque. Dr. Kligerman later published a paper on "The Effects of Chemical Agents on Plaque Accumulation" in the Journal of Periodontology. His responsibilities also included lecturing to the dental students of Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Kligerman was an instructor of periodontics at the Dental Continuing Educational Center of Lindsay Hopkins, Miami, Florida (1974 - 1976) and Broward Community College Dental Research Clinic (B.C.C.) Fort Lauderdale, Florida (1976 - 1988). He assumed co-chairmanship of the Department of Implant Dentistry at B.C.C. (1989 - present). Dr. Kligerman is currently Chairman of a Seattle Study Club, the Intracoastal Dental Study Club of Fort Lauderdale.
Dr. Jeffrey Okeson
Dr Jeffrey P Okeson has dedicated his career to educating students, residents and clinicians in the areas of occlusion, temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pain. He has been a full time faculty member at the University of Kentucky for more than 37 years. He is recognized worldwide as an authority in the field of TMD and orofacial pain, lecturing in every state in the USA and more than 50 different foreign countries. His textbooks have been translated into eleven different foreign languages and have become a standard for teaching throughout the world. His peers have called him the “World Ambassador for Orofacial pain”. He is a highly sought after speaker and has given more than 1000 invited lectures throughout the world. He has received numerous awards, honors and recognitions for his outstanding teaching and educational abilities. Some of these awards include the campus wide University of Kentucky “Great Teacher Award”, the Provost’s Distinguished Service Professorship, the American Academy of Orofacial Pain’s Service Award and the first ever “Distinguished Alumni Award” from the College of Dentistry. Dr. Okeson has also received “The International Dentist of the Year Award” from the Academy of Dentistry International. This is the highest award recognized by this Academy and was given to him in recognition of his worldwide efforts in providing education in the area of temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pain. In addition to his two textbooks, he has more then 220 publications in scientific journals. He is director of the Orofacial Pain Center at the University of Kentucky which he founded in 1977. He has developed several full-time teaching programs associated with the Center. The Master of Science Degree program he established was the first in the United States to be accredited by the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. This program has graduated 47 full time residents from 21 different countries. He is active in many nationals and international organizations and is past president of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. He is also a founding diplomate and past president of the American Board of Orofacial Pain. Dr. Okeson is a captivating lecturer with a teaching style that is engaging, logical and based on the available science. He is one of the few individuals in the world capable of bring all these subjects together into one lecture series.
Ron Magill has worked with wildlife for over 30 years and has had the privilege of having hands-on experience with a tremendous variety of animals ranging from crocodiles to eagles to cheetahs. He is an internationally recognized zoological authority who has appeared on a wide variety of local, national, and international programs including “National Geographic Explorer,” the “Today Show,” “Good Morning America,” “NBC Nightly News,” “The Late Show with David Letterman,” “CBS’ The Early Show,” “Live with Regis,” “Dateline,” and CNN. Ron is also a frequent wildlife analyst for “MSNBC” and makes regular appearances on Spanish language television programs including international hits “Sabado Gigante” and “Despierta America.”His extensive experiences have taken him around the globe to explore the wonders of our natural world. From swimming with sea lions off of the Galapagos Islands to tracking tigers on the back of an elephant in India, his adventures have allowed him to live many of the dreams he had as a child. No place has made a greater impact on him than the magical continent of Africa to which he has traveled over 30 times. He considers traveling to the wilds of Africa a “safari of the soul” that will leave the visitor with an indelible impression of indescribable beauty from a world lost in time. Ron is an award-winning photographer and documentary producer whose images have appeared in publications and galleries around the world including the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. He hopes his images will help inspire an appreciation for wildlife along with efforts to protect it for generations to come.
Ed Zak is a graduate of Niagara University with a B.S. in Marketing. For the last 20 plus years, Ed has dedicated himself to the dental industry in both laboratory and clinical applications. He has worked for dental market leaders like Jelenko, Heraeus Kulzer, X-Rite, and Henry Schein Dental. His current position is a Key Account Manager for Ivoclar Vivadent whereby he brings forth a combination of team leadership, strategic planning, and business development skills that he leverages to meet and exceed his customer’s expectations.He is credited for first introducing the use of “reward” credit cards for dental labs to pay for all of their supplies. This enabled labs to enjoy points, rewards, and airline travel while consolidating a lab’s payables. He then introduced the ability for his customers to accept credit cards without absorbing huge fees that once deterred many dental labs from this practice. Ed also provided to the dental lab industry a number of outside services to help his customers grow their business like: Understanding how dental insurance companies work and what is deemed “Usual and Customary” for dental fees…and understanding that dental labs are domestic manufacturers that can qualify for additional tax credits that are not widely known in our industry.Ed has lectured for the N.A.D.L., F.D.L.A., and numerous other dental organizations throughout his career. He resides in New Smyrna Beach, FL and his three children.

Dr. Christopher S. Freeman
Dr. Christopher S. Freeman obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University Of Kentucky College Of Dentistry. He graduated as the valedictorian of his 2001 class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Pierre Fauchard National Dental Honor Societies. Shortly thereafter, he earned a master's degree in orthodontics and dento-facial orthopedics from the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry. Dr. Freeman established Freeman Orthodontics in 2004, with a focus on customer service and excellent clinical outcomes. With his outstanding academic achievement and diverse clinical experience, he and his team quickly became one of the premiere orthodontic offices on South Florida. He is committed to providing quality orthodontic care to the residents of Plantation, Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding communities. Dr Freeman is published author on his expertise in orthodontics and has been published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dento-facial Orthopedics (the primary journal of his profession), The Journal of Nuro-Viroligy, and the Journal of Clinical Dentistry for his original for his innovative and original, research and ideas. He has been asked to speak on the topics of technology in orthodontics, multidiscipline treatment of complicated orthodontic problems and children’s orthodontics. He is also one of the few orthodontists that has actually submitted his cases to the American Board of Orthodontists and been awarded the title of Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists. While Dr Freeman is an excellent orthodontist, was top in his class, and a published author and speaker, he prides himself on being down to earth and focusing on communication and customer service. Dr. Freeman is the past president of the Broward County Dental Association and maintains active membership in several organizations, including the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Florida Association of Orthodontists, the Charles H. Tweed International Foundation for Orthodontic Education and Research, the Broward County Dental Association and the American College of Dentists. He is also a member of the College of Diplomats for the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Steven Short
Dr. Steven Short attended the Indiana School of Dentistry and graduated with honors, receiving his Doctorate of Dental Surgery and Master of Science degree in Orthodontics. Dr. Short's education did not stop there! He is a firm believer in advanced training for himself and his staff and they regularly attend continuing education programs in all areas of orthodontics and general dentistry. In addition, he is a member of the Schulman Study Group, which is limited to 125 top orthodontic practitioners in the country.
Maine Shafer, J.D.
Maine Shafer, J.D, has more than 10 years experience as a professional speaker delivering tax reduction strategies on behalf of Bradford and Company, Inc. Maine consistently earns student evaluation ratings in excess of 9.65 on a scale of 1 to 10, a testament to his ability to make taxes a cash resource for participants. Maine’s strong background in taxes started when he worked on the staff of a U.S. Senator on Capitol Hill, while receiving his Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center. His tax education continued during his clerkship with the Chief Judge of the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and while working as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New Mexico. Dr. David Garber
Dr. Garber was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and served in the Rand Light Infantry before becoming a dentist. Dr. Garber graduated with post-doctoral training in both Periodontics and Fixed Prosthodontics, a very rare and prestigious accomplishment, to provide patients with a one stop diagnosis and treatment facility. Prior to coming to Goldstein, Garber and Salama, Dr. Garber worked at a private practice in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Garber is currently a Clinical Professor in the Department of Periodontics at the Georgia Health Sciences University School of Dentistry and also serves as a visiting professor in the department of Prosthodontics at Louisiana State University. He lectures extensively 40-50 times annually throughout the U.S., Europe, South Ameria and Asia. He has co-authored texts on cosmetic dentistry including Bleaching Teeth, Porcelain Laminate Veneers, Porcelain and Composite Inlays and Onlays, and Complete Dental Bleaching. He was also a co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Esthetic Dentistry. He has authored an excess 60 articles published in dental literature.
George J. Martinez
George J. Martinez is currently a Regional Preventive Specialist for 3M ESPE with over 30 years of Preventive Dentistry experience. George has delivered over 500 Preventive seminars across the country and is certified to present the CE courses in two languages. His lectures specialize on simplifying CaMBRA; risk assessment, treatment protocols, the latest in technology for fighting oral disease and coaching needs of the clinicians. He has developed risk assessment programs for the University of Florida Pediatric Residency Program, Dental Universities, Hygiene schools, seminar and convention attendees and private practices across the nation. His passion for prevention and expertise will motivate the oral healthcare provider to offer patients the latest technology and protocols in preventing oral disease, while increasing the overall production of the practice.
